How it works:
Contestants will bake their cupcakes and make all icings, toppings, decorations, etc at home. However, all cupcake assembly and decoration must take place on site within the time provided. Each individual or team will have a designated workspace. Please bring everything you need to decorate your cakes, and your stand or display ready-to-use. Do not bring equipment that requires electricity; there will not be access to outlets. At the end of the decorating time, a celebrity judge and Troop 3731 will determine one winner for each of the three age groups based on taste, decoration quality, and use of theme. After the Award Ceremony, all cupcakes will be sold at a bake sale open to the public. 100% of the money earned from the bake sale will go towards our Silver Award charitable service projects.
What we provide:
The competition is taking place in a meeting hall. You will be assigned a section of a 30"x 72" table, based on the size of your group. The tables will be arranged end to end and in rows. The tables will be covered with a plastic tablecloth. There are restrooms.
Theme:
The theme is "It's a Scout's World" and you may interpret that as literally or loosely as you would like.. Have fun!
Individuals or Teams:
You may compete as an individual or in a team of up to 4 people. Participation fees are $20 for one contestant, plus an additional $10 for each additional contestant up to 3. So a team of two would give $30 and a team of 4 would give $50. Please note that as this is a fundraiser no refunds will be given. Money from the participation fees will go towards the event costs, our Silver Award charitable service project, and other activities.
